Description:

We are offering a paid internship for graduate students or recent graduates in the science and engineering fields. The intern will work directly with the Research Director at Global Efficiency Intelligence (GEI) to assist with research projects focused on industrial decarbonization.

Our research covers technology, policy, and market analysis related to industrial decarbonization. The intern will be able to contribute to data collection, desktop research, techno-economic analysis, and research writing across one or more projects. The specific area(s) of research will be aligned with the intern’s background and GEI’s ongoing needs.

This internship pays competitively with other engineering internships and offers the potential for continued part-time work throughout the year.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis under the supervision of GEI experts.

  • Support techno-economic analysis, industrial decarbonization research, and policy assessments.

  • Contribute to written materials, including report chapters and policy briefs for the GEI website.

  • Engage in critical discussions and intellectual debates as part of GEI’s research activities.

Qualifications:

Must be a Master's or Ph.D. student (ideally Ph.D.) in the US or Europe.

✅ Preferred academic fields: Energy & Environmental Engineering, Industrial Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Energy & Climate Policy, or other related disciplines.

✅ Prior research experience in industrial decarbonization, energy and climate policy is desirable.

Exceptional English writing skills (professional-level proficiency required).

Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and work independently.

Willingness to learn new topics and engage with complex technical and policy discussions.

📍 Location: Remote work (work from your own location).

Status: Part-time (flexible hours-less than 10hr per week).
