Demand response provides an opportunity for consumers to play a significant role in reducing peak demand on the electric grid by reducing or shifting their electricity usage during peak periods in response to a demand response event. Demand response programs are being used by some regulators and utilities as resource options for balancing supply and demand. However, both at the utility and consumer side, there are barriers to the adoption of demand response. Since industrial facilities can be large contributors to utilities’ demand response program, there is a need for better understanding of the barriers, drivers, technologies, market and potential for demand response in manufacturing and commercial sectors.

Global Efficiency Intelligence, LLC. provides targeted sub-sector level analysis on demand response potential in manufacturing sector. In addition, we work with utilities to provide practical solutions to manage their portfolios of demand response programs and increase customer satisfaction.
